About Us

Welcome to Hartley Wintney Solar Action Group blog. The group exists to raise awareness in our community about energy use and its consequences and to promote a community response to climate change.

We encourage and promote the use of solar PV on domestic and public properties in our village and surrounding areas. We aim to help homeowners install solar electricity panels on their roofs to both cut their carbon footprint and to take advantage of the current financial incentives.

Following an assessment of several installation companies, HWSAG selected Paarl Energy as the most beneficial, with them providing not only a competitive group discount but also a free installation on a community building for every 25 installations purchased through HWSAG.

To date 69 installations have been completed and, despite not yet reaching the required 75 installation target, Paarl have already installed 4kW systems on three of our local schools: Oakwood Infants, Greenfields Junior and Robert Mays.
